About PBCA
Probashi Bengali Christian Association is a non-profit 501(C)(3) social organization of all Bengali Christians living in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. It is involved in organizing social activities such as get-togethers and cultural programs, picnic during summer and graduation programs, prayers etc.
Probashi is committed to welfare of the community. Community concerns are its' first priority. Probashi tries to establish communion between Bengali Christian families by organizing get-togethers, by nurturing family values and by encouraging members of future generation for good social, cultural, intellectual and spiritual growth. Annual Christmas / New Year get-together usually starts with prayer followed by a cultural-variety show performed by the family and friends of Probashi. Variety show includes recitation of poetry, drama, traditional dances, music and songs performed by individuals or groups, comedy, fashion shows, raffle etc. In the get-together for the graduation program, recognition, encouragement and warm supports are given to the newly college-graduating members.
Tepantori is an annual souvenir magazine published by Probashi during Christmas. Family members and friends of Probashi contribute their articles which consist of a wide variety from literary work such as poems, short stories to analytical, informational, suggestive or directional articles involving various socio-economical, socio-political and spiritual issues.
Bangladeshi national memorable day Shohid Dibosh on 21st February is observed with due respect.
All family members of Bengali Christians of tri-state area are considered as general members and a nominal annual membership fee is suggested to support ongoing expenses. It has an executive committee consisting of a President, Vice President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer, Cultural Secretary, Assistant Cultural Secretary, Organizational Secretary, Youth and Sports Secretary and two Executive Members. It also has an advisory board. Executive committee members meet every month. There is an annual general meeting where all members are welcome to attend. Current year's activities and suggestions for future year's activities are discussed in this meeting. Also, general secretary of the organization formally announces itemized list of activities as well as executive members answer questions that the general members have. Also, the treasurer submits the expense accounts for the year. In the general meeting of every other year bi-annual election of new executive committee is held where all members and their families are invited. Only members who are adult (over 18 years) vote to elect for those above mentioned offices. New executive committee later selects the members of advisory board. Besides the annual general meeting, other ad-hoc meetings are held through out the year where all general members are welcome.

PBCA is the first Bengali Christian Association in US that play a vital role in the success of this team by extending its vision and mission into Bengali communities across the United States.
Our PBCA is an excellent way to take advantage of the wealth of Bengali resources available in New York, as well as the tri-state region. Through workshops, presentations, conferences, meetings and social outings, PBCA helps you stay informed on key social issues while enabling members to establish valuable local, regional and even national contacts.

For more than 25 years, PBCA has been dedicated in bringing Bengali christians all over the United States to a common goal of unity, prosperity and growth within our community. PBCA membership is growing and we expect it to exceed 2700 members by end of the year. PBCA meetings provide tremendous opportunities for peer networking and valuable connections to the Bengali community.
PBCA seeks to:

- Who do I contact to pay my yearly membership fee?
You can send your yearly membership fee by mail to the same PBCA address attention PBCA. Specify which year you are paying for and your name clearly.
- Is the website updated on a daily basis?
Yes. We will try to keep it as current as possible. Please send us your email address and or addresses of your friends and family members who would like to be kept in the loop about events that are in the horizon.This way you can get notified about events that are going to come in the near future.
- Can I put up an ad about my business on this website?
